My background is in further education, where I taught for 32 years. Transitioning to the automotive industry was a complete change, but one for the better. In my role as showroom host, I looked after service and sales clients as they arrived, answered calls, and managed the day-to-day running of the showroom.
I was later approached for a new role as Handover Manager in our dealership at Pentland. This was an amazing opportunity for me, as I took on the responsibility of caring for sales clients through to the handover of their new car, guiding and supporting them throughout the process until the exciting day they received their vehicle.
I have also completed the sales process within the group, which has given me valuable knowledge, experience, and opportunities for development.
My role has since evolved into Client Experience Manager, which involves looking after clients' aftercare and follow-up post-handover.
The company has a family-friendly feel, where everyone knows each other and genuinely looks out for one another. During the COVID years, we were well supported and kept informed of developments and processes, which made a big difference.
Every day is different in my role, as I look after the sales team, valet team, and my assistant. I love being organized, which is a significant part of my responsibilities. However, my favorite part of the job is looking after people—getting to know them and their families.
I enjoy working with the team and making our clients' purchase experience a memorable one—not just during the purchase and collection but also in the time that follows. It's important to ensure our clients feel supported with their new purchase and know we are here for them at any point.
I feel very supported in my role and have throughout my time with JCMG. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed my new career far more than my previous one!
